General Information

Please do not apply for a License to Carry (LTC) unless you can come in to the Office within 10 days after notification that your LTC has been approved.

You are required to have your picture taken and a signature received before the LTC will be created into the system.

Failure to come in within 10 days, will result in the application being considered expired and you will have to re-apply and pay all fees.

NON-RESIDENT APPLICANTS:

If you are a NON-RESIDENT of Pennsylvania looking to apply for a License to Carry Firearms, you must provide your Out-of-State Concealed Carry License and ID as part of the application.

Learning the laws regulating the use of firearms is a must for responsible ownership. Local regulations differ and laws vary from state to state. Citizens must check with the jurisdiction where the gun is to be used.

The Sheriff and his staff are required to follow strict state guidelines when performing the necessary background checks for License to Carry Firearms.

A License to Carry Firearms can be obtained from the county sheriff of your county of residence.

*If your license has been expired by 6 months or more, you must complete a NEW application.

Gaining competency with firearms is like learning to drive a car or fly an airplane. You need expert instruction and practice. There is no shortcut. If you are not willing to invest the time and effort to become competent, then having a firearm and trying to use it can, in many instances, be more hazardous than any impending threat.
